A pre-ride check can set you up for a fun and successful powersports adventure! It's also a great way to uncover any unexpected issues and make necessary adjustments before you head out riding. There are a few main points to address, to make your powersports vehicle check as efficient and helpful as possible.

Here are a few key tips, when making out the perfect pre-ride checklist!

Check the Fluids

Powersports vehicles rely on fluids to keep their mechanics working well. It’s important to make sure that your powersports vehicle has enough fresh fluids before each ride, to keep your vehicle running in proper condition. This includes going over everything from the fuel, coolant, brake fluid, and engine oil.

Check the Air Filter

The air filter helps keep your powersports vehicle ventilation functioning well, but it eventually gets covered in an excess of pollutants and also loses effectiveness. When this occurs, the air filter will need to be replaced. As part of your pre-ride check, look into the air filter and make sure it’s not due for replacement!

Check the Tires

There are a few important points to keep in mind when checking your tires before a ride. First, make sure that your tires are inflated to the correct air pressure. With too much or too little inflation, they could suffer from problems like reduced fuel efficiency or an increased chance of a blowout. Use a tire pressure gauge to measure the air pressure, then compare it to the manufacturer's recommendations and adjust if needed.

Additionally, you also need to check that your tires have enough tread. The tread gets worn down over time and eventually needs to be replaced. Lastly, make sure your tires are free of damage. If you do identify any issues with your tires during the pre-ride check - do not go out on the trail!
